Happy August Y’all! Can you believe school is starting soon and the summer is almost over? I feel like we just hit our stride, and things are changing again. 😊 CTM Robin here to bring you another Step by Step post where I’ll be using Liz’s fabulous Big Photo Templates 7.
I think every album needs to have a big photo page in it, so here’s mine for this year! Like all the other templates in Liz’s store, this one was super fun to use.
First, I actually rotated the entire image (Image>Image Rotation> 90 degrees counterclockwise) since I knew my big photo was oriented horizontally rather than vertically. I love that I can rotate Liz’s templates and it’s like a whole new template to add to my stash! The only thing you must pay attention to when you rotate a template is making sure your shadows go where you want them to. I did adjust some of my shadows!
Next, I clipped my photos in the photo spots. This February we had a huge winter storm in Texas and the poor birds were literally starving to death. We decided to feed as many as we could and I wanted to capture this memory.
Now usually I put elements down next and then work the papers around those. But this time, with the large photo spot, I wanted to ensure that my background paper complimented my photo and didn’t draw the attention away from it, so I put my papers in next.
After the papers were done, I started placing elements from Just
Jaimee’s Winter End kit around the template.
I added my text and took a look at my page:
Something wasn’t right, so I then went BACK to my elements and messed around with them, and I ended up taking the gold elements. I thought they were distracting, and I really wanted this page to be all about the birds. Here’s what I ended up with:
See you next month!
